Shell hires 300 petrol forecourt attendants

To cement Shell's reputation as a premium brand and encourage customer loyalty, the fuel retailer is embarking on a recruitment drive to hire 300 forecourt attendants by the end of Summer, giving British motorists a free and customer-friendly service that in many ways harks back to the golden years of driving.

Shell's AA-trained staff will offer basic car maintenance including checking tyre pressure, as well as handling the pump – which may prove particularly popular with female motorists.
