Eka wins petrol station of the year award

Modern Station names Eka as gas station of the year for 2012
Sovazs, publisher of Modern Station has named Eka as "Station of the Year". The award attributes not only Russian fuel retail group Eka but also the London-based design firm Minale Tattersfield.

The leading Russian monthly Современная АЗС which is a veritable resource for those working in the construction and day-to-day running of gas stations in Russia, judged Eka station No 27. to be the outright winner, from design and branding through to construction and facilities offered.

Situated on outer Moscow Ring Road (26km), the petrol filling station is favourably located in a high density corridor to accelerate recognition of the newly created brand and maximise awareness across Moscow's administrative districts.

Behind the striking orange appearance, a colour which is not represented in any of the competitor retail networks, hides modern and high-tech facilities, equipped with the latest filling technology, plus EV charging infrastructure.

Construction of the site took 4 months thanks in part to our partners Etalon Reklama (ООО «Эталон Реклама. Строительство и облицовка АЗС». Modern materials are used throughout from glass reinforced plastic cladding to energy efficient lighting (see our previous post Eka goes Eco with latest forecourt for details).

The 200m2 c-store houses over 3000 SKUs. Instead of an own-brand coffee chain, Eka decided to incorporate the largest fast-food chain Subway to offer customers a wide range of fresh sandwiches, coffee and pastries.

This year sees 3 new sites being built as well as 20 refits. Rebranding of the entire network is expected to be completed by the end of 2015 as part of a major network upgrade.
